Why do these scarf colors change under different lights?

I only spotted the pattern while choosing a profile picture for work. Clear navy tops seemed calm, but yellowish neutrals made my complexion look uneven. Artificial light hid most of it, yet morning daylight made the contrast difficult to ignore. I am preparing for an in-person client presentation next month.
